How to apply for
Digital Accelerator Basel

Who we are looking for

The Digital Accelerator Basel targets early-stage tech startups that want to transform the logistics and supply chain industry with their solutions.

We are looking for teams that:

  • are still new to the market (maximum 2 years old or shortly before founding),

  • have already developed a functional prototype or proof of concept,

  • have a clear connection to the Basel region – be it through founders, company headquarters, or initial customer relationships.

If your startup is working on innovative technologies such as IoT, AI, Data Analytics, Robotics, Blockchain, or cloud solutions and you want to take the next step, you’ve come to the right place.

Thematic Focus: Supply Chain & Logistics

The first edition of the Digital Accelerator Basel focuses on technologies for logistics and supply chain management – a key industry in our region.

The reasons for this are clear:

  • Strategic importance: With the Rhine ports of Basel, Birsfelden, and Muttenz, the region has Switzerland’s only direct shipping access. It is central for the secure supply of food, energy, and raw materials – and for the export of numerous industrial goods. The EuroAirport also plays an important role in international freight traffic.

  • Challenges & opportunities: Limited storage space, increasing efficiency requirements, and the pressure for greater sustainability make the industry a driver for new technologies.

  • Innovation potential: Digital solutions such as IoT, AI, robotics, or blockchain offer enormous opportunities to make supply chains more efficient, transparent, and sustainable.

With the accelerator, we aim to support startups that drive this transformation with their ideas and technologies – thereby securing the competitiveness of the logistics industry in Basel and beyond.

Who is behind the accelerator?

The Digital Accelerator Basel was launched by the Chambers of Commerce of both Basels together with the economic development agencies of the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft. The goal was to close a gap: While the region already offers excellent structures for startups in life sciences and specialized fields such as quantum computing, there was previously no offering for tech talents in the early founding phase.

The Digital Accelerator Basel was created to change this – run by
Basel Area Business & Innovation
, a non-profit organization with many years of experience in implementing innovation programs and accelerators. With BaseLaunch and DayOne, Basel Area already operates two of Switzerland’s leading life science accelerators and venture builders.

The Digital Accelerator Basel complements this portfolio and extends support to the tech sector. Like all Basel Area programs, it is based on a combination of public funding, industry investments, and close collaboration with partners – for sustainable innovation in and for the region’s markets.
