The inaugural 2026 cohort of the Digital Accelerator Basel brings together four early-stage startups from the Basel region, each addressing a different challenge at the intersection of technology, logistics, and operations.
Together, they cover topics ranging from circular economy and demand forecasting to AI-driven anti-counterfeiting and autonomous robotics. Here you will find a detailed overview of what each startup has to offer.
klaro Solutions GmbH – Digitalizing waste and internal material flow
klaro Solutions focuses on recycling and waste management, helping companies gain control over their internal material flows.
With a simple, accessible SaaS platform, klaro digitalizes waste and internal material streams, automatically processing quantities, costs, materials, and waste data into easy-to-understand information that teams can analyze without complexity. This enables organizations to reduce waste, optimize material flows, and actively contribute to net-zero goals such as Basel 2037 and Switzerland 2050.

The early-stage startup, currently onboarding its first customer, was co-founded by Göknur Bektas and Pearl Oti-Amoako.

ekona AG – AI-Powered demand sensing for supply chains
ekona AG operates in the retail tech space, building a low-cost AI demand-sensing layer for modern supply chains.
Its cloud-based “Demand-Sensing Layer” plugs into existing ERP and BI systems, ingesting internal sales and inventory data and enriching it in real time with external signals such as social media buzz, web traffic, weather, promotions, and macro trends. The result is a forecasting model for every SKU (Stock Keeping Unit), channel, and geography – all without the need for long IT projects or in-house data-science teams.

The early-stage startup was co-founded by Peter Grimvall and Sam Khalil, and initial pilot projects have already been carried out.
Vrai AI – Instant detection of counterfeit medicines
Vrai AI has developed a patented AI solution that detects counterfeit medicines instantly from a single smartphone photo of the product packaging, without additional hardware, physical tags, or changes to existing supply chains. By analyzing microscopic printing defects that counterfeiters cannot reliably reproduce, Vrai AI achieves proven detection accuracy of 99.7% in real-world industrial pilots. This enables scalable verification across pharmaceutical supply chains, helping protect patients, reduce healthcare costs, and restore trust in medicines—while the same technology can also be applied to other counterfeit goods.

Vrai AI was co-founded by Hugo Garcia-Cotte, Prof. David G. Stork, Thilo Fuchs, and Charles Garcia.
Maus Robotics – Autonomous food robotics
Maus Robotics represents the robotics and automation vertical in the 2026 cohort, bringing autonomous food robots to the table.
The startup develops and operates robotic vending machines that prepare fresh crêpes from raw batter and toppings in under 90 seconds, allowing customers to select their preferred crêpe and watch it being made in real time. The system fully automates spreading, cooking, filling, and serving, delivering a transparent and hygienic experience for both end consumers and hosting locations.

Producing around 500 crêpes in the last eight weeks, Maus Robotics is co-founded by brothers Robert and Marten Hennig.
